The scale differentiation is lovely, as well. The back scales look thick and somewhat worn, and it's very effective. I would say if anything needs improvement, it would be the mouth. Adding some curvature and mabye some skin texture would have been excellent, becoming a bit more sophisticated than a line mouth.

I love the eye and the way he seems to be smiling inwardly.
I wanna hug him too. <3 the detail on this is.. as near to perfect as ever possible. i love the shading and the way you've done the scales, and i particularly like the horns and that general area.
